The Queen

With just a few days to go before my holiday there was just enough time to catch up with another old friend. Here we are having a quick pint talking over old times. She doesn't pose for photos normally but she made an exception for me as we have known each other for so long.

Passport

Cutting it fine but my passport has finally arrived. I was getting worried with just a few days to go but I was told it would arrive on time. I'm getting excited now!

Depeche Mode

I was looking through some old photographs and came across this one. I had forgotten all about it. I was in Depeche Mode at the start and here I am in a publicity shot with the other members. The photographer suggested that me and Dave Gahan look at each other with the other members looking in different directions.

Burger

Another day another meal out. This time a gigantic burger. Well gigantic to me. Though I had a glass or two of wine to help wash it down.

Snow

Oooh I like snow. I can fly over it and when I fancy a rest I can melt a patch with my flames. As I've done here at this fence. Though I had to be careful not to set fire to the fence.

I found this swing. its great, though I would have preferred the string to be red to match me. I spent quite a bit of time playing on this.

Having a Beer

I went for a beer with some friends. I didn't realise the glasses were so big. Didn't think I'd be able to drink a full pint. I was also worried about putting my fire out, not much of a dragon if you can't breath fire at passers by.

I think I was wrong to worry. After a while I started coping quite well.

Driving Lessons

Its a long time since I drove a car. Getting around down under I'm going to need a car. With that in mind I've booked some refresher lessons. This is a VW Golf, its quite nice. I think I need a small cushion to see through the windscreen though.

A Wine or Two

I met a friend for a glass or two of wine the other night in London. it was nice to catch up, but the wine glasses were a litle bit on the large side for me. Still managed to get through it in the end!

Covent Garden

I thought I'd have a look round Covent Garden. Always see it listed in tourist guides. There was a woman singing very loudly when I got here. She stopped fairly quickly though.

After having my picture taken I went for a wander round. I was amazed to see a picture of an old school friend outside a theatre. She always said she wanted to be on stage and here she is all these years (I won't say how many years!) later on stage at Covent Garden. I tried to get in but they wouldn't let me through the door. I explained a dear dear friend of mine was in the cast and I'd come all the way from Wales, but they still wouldn't let me in. Maybe I should have sneaked in through the box office, they wouldn't spot me.

Riding the Tube

So I've arrived in London, sort of. Here I am on a sign at the local Tube Station. They didn't have any special 'Dragon Fares' at the ticket office. There was stuff for pensioners, children and oysters. I didn't understand that last one, why would an oyster get a train? Its a nice bright day and the train is due in a few minutes. Not many people around so I hope I get a seat.

I got a seat, I could have had several. There's no one around. The seats are a lot larger than I thought they would be. I had heard they were really small. Should be a nice comfortable journey then.

Setting Off

I'm setting off for London today. You can see my home, Castell Coch (that's Red Castle in English), behind me. It over looks the River Taff and is near Cardiff. I can fly to Cardiff, but I'm not sure my wings will take me all the way to London. I might have to take the train.
I've never been to London before and I'm looking forward to seeing it before continuing my journey to Australia and New Zealand. I'll definitely need someones else's wings for that flight.
